    100 and Counting: Ripple Adds New Members to Distributed Ledger Network
    Announced today, new members include Bexs Banco de Cambio, a processing service for international payments, and dLocal, the payment service behind Uber and GoDaddy. The other firms joining the network's now 100-plus members include Credit Agricole, Currencies Direct, IFX, TransferGo, Cuallix, Krungsri and Rakbank.

    Ripple also revealed that financial services firm Cuallix will be the first partner to convert cross-border fund transfers into Ripple's native currency XRP. Specifically, the company plans use the token for fund transfers between the U.S. and Mexico in order to reduce processing costs, the release states.

    The new members join at a time when Ripple is actively pursuing high-profile partnerships with leading financial institutions worldwide while taking a more aggressive stance to differentiate its products and services.

    Oct 16 (Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase & Co said on Monday it launched a new payment processing network that uses blockchain technology, in partnership with Royal Bank of Canada and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ).

    Blockchain, a shared ledger of transactions maintained by a network of computers on the internet, is the technology that underpins cryptocurrency bitcoin.

    The Interbank Information Network will allow payments to reach beneficiaries faster with fewer steps and better security, JPMorgan said on Monday. (http://reut.rs/2ylXai4)

    While JPMorgan Chief Jamie Dimon has spoken out against bitcoin, he and other banking executives have lauded the technology. (http://reut.rs/2ym0r0U)

    JPMorgan and many of its competitors have invested millions of dollars in the technology in hopes that it can be adapted to simplify and lower the costs of processes such as securities settlement, loan trading and international money transfers.

    "Blockchain capabilities have allowed us to rethink how critical information can be sourced and exchanged between global banks," said Emma Loftus, head of global payments and foreign exchange at J.P. Morgan Treasury Services.

    The network will be powered by Quorum, a blockchain technology developed by JPMorgan. Other banks are expected to join in the coming months, the bank said.

    AMSTERDAM (AFN) - ABN AMRO, als eerste Nederlandse grootbank, volgende maand flitsbetalingen naar andere eurolanden mogelijk maken. Geld dat wordt overgemaakt, staat dan binnen 10 seconden op de rekening van de ontvanger. Nu duurt dit soms nog meerdere werkdagen. Dat meldt de Volkskrant.

    Per 21 november gaan bijna 600 betaalinstellingen uit acht eurolanden 'instantbetalingen' aanbieden. Dat kondigde voorzitter Javier Santamaría van de European Payments Council (EPC) aan. ABN AMRO bevestigde desgevraagd dat zij meedoet.

    ABN AMRO verwacht dat het in eerste instantie om slechts ,,enkele duizenden'' transacties per maand gaat, maar dat aantal kan snel oplopen. Aan de flitsbetalingen, die onderdeel worden van mobiel en internetbankieren, zijn volgens de bank geen extra kosten verbonden.

    Everis, NTT DATA and Ripple are committing full-time engineering resources to ensure the success of this project. The main contributors will include Takahiro Inaba (NTT DATA), Adrian Hope-Bailie (Ripple) and Isaac Arruebarrena (Everis, an NTT DATA Company).

    Many other members have already expressed interest in backing the development of Quilt’s Java implementation. This team will seek to work with the other Hyperledger projects in order to find ways to enable ledger interoperability across Hyperledger’s DLT solutions and institutions’ centralised ledgers. Other engineers from NTT DATA, Everis and Ripple will also contribute to the project over time. Members of the Interledger Payments Community Group have also shown interest in contributing to the development of this ILP implementation.

    Now here is the clue of Ripple’s chart: the combination of the pattern of higher lows with a consolidation pattern that is now ongoing for 6 months is an extremely powerful combination. Almost every other cryptocurrency is either in a strong uptrend or downtrend, not so with Ripple which is consolidating.

    These factors lead us to believe that our Ripple price forecast of 0.50 USD in 2017 is still not out of the woods.
