T-Mobile US raises growth targets on higher merger synergies, 5G expansion plans.
T-Mobile US has raised its mid-term growth guidance
To achieve the growth, the operator outlined several areas where it plans expansion. Notably it's 5G fixed-wireless service launched for businesses this month will expand in the next month to consumers. Its initial home broadband pilot had over 100,000 customers, exceeding expectations, and the aim is to sign up 7-8 million within five years.
Again this bodes very well for Nokia who is the sole supplier of the 5g fixed wireless access routers required to connect to the tmobile 5g network. That network which is also partially supplied by Nokia will also be expanding over the next 5 years.
It has been generally believed the 500 million early payment last quarter made to Nokia was from Tmobile. An analyst on the last Q&A session of the conference call asked Mr. Lundmark who the payment was from but he didn't disclose. The service is running about 3 weeks behind for delivery of the 5g router most likely due to the global chip shortage which is a very good indication of the unprecedented demand for this product.
