    Antonov to supply transmission to Chinese clients from France

    GUANGZHOU -- British technology company Antonov will produce its TX6 six-speed automatic transmission in France mainly to supply the China market from 2011, after its plan to make the transmission with a local partner in southwest China was halted.

    But Antonov's China CEO Kang Yun says his company still wants to establish a joint venture in China to produce the transmission locally.

    "The production in France will be carried out in an automatic transmission plant of Ford Motor Company that is called Ford Aquitaine Industrie (FAI), in Blanquefort, near Bordeaux," Kang says.

    Ford is now selling FAI, but Antonov will establish a partnership with the plant's new owner to rent some production facilities there to produce the TX6 transmission, says Kang.

    He adds the production volume in France will not be large, and the products are mainly for supplying customers in China.

    In late 2008, Antonov announced domestic Chinese automaker Lifan Motors would install the TX6 transmissions in its mid-sized sedans from late 2010.

    Kang says he is now talking to at least two other Chinese automakers interested in the transmission, but he declines to name the two potential clients.

    Kang adds Antonov is now looking for a Chinese partner to establish a joint venture plant in China to produce the transmission. He says his company hopes the production in China can start in 2012.

    He says production in France will gradually be transferred to China once the China-based joint venture is set up.

    Antonov had expected to build the transmission with Chongqing Loncin Holdings, a leading Chinese motorcycle and small gasoline engine manufacturer.

    In 2007, the two companies signed an agreement for a pilot project to build prototype vehicles equipped with Antonov's TX6 transmissions for test drives in China.

    They also discussed a plan to form a 50-50 joint venture in the southwest China city of Chongqing to build the transmission. Antonov originally hoped the joint venture could be set up in 2008.

    But after the pilot project was completed, Loncin appears to have no interest in forming a joint venture with Antonov.

    According to Kang, the two companies have disagreements on how to establish the supply base and to market the transmission after completing a series of market surveys in China.

    Also, Antonov had planned to produce the transmission with Geely Automobile Co. in early 2009, but the two sides terminated the cooperation project in late 2007.

    We praten hier over 2011, dus zo wie zo vertraging. (was 2010)

    Kleine volumes in een westers land produceren en dan leveren aan Lifan voor de afgesproken prijs. Gaat een schip van bijleg worden.

    Dus die twee jaar vertraging is reëel.

    Neem aan dat je het met me eens bent dat de JV met Loncin over is.

    Ford Aquitaine Industries, a French subsidiary of US auto maker Ford, is to shut down its plant in Blanquefort for six working days between October and November due to a drop in order numbers. It is believed that the factory could also be closed down for three weeks between late December and early January. With 1,500 employees, the site specialises in the production of five-speed automatic gearboxes and is set to manufacture just 250,000 units this year, against 750,000 a year at the beginning of this century, due to the decreasing popularity of gas-guzzling vehicles in the US.

    The US group, which is looking to sell the site by 2010, has to date received interest from three unnamed potential buyers: a US refurbishment specialist, a gearbox maker present in several countries, and a European company that manufactures mechanical car parts. The company is also in talks with Antonov, a UK technology company specialising in the design of transmission systems, and is looking into supplying automatic gearboxes for the Chinese market.

    Gaat toch iets later worden:

    Binnen één bericht is het gewoon al een puinhoop met data. Ok het is geen officieel bericht. Trouwens enig idee waarom Antonov hier over zwijgt??? Lijkt me koersgevoelige info.

    Morgen komen er weer ruim 2,6 miljoen aandelen bij op het toch al dunne bied boekje.

    Ze zijn nog in gesprek, dus lijkt me logisch dat men wacht totdat samenwerking is afgesloten.
    Je kan wel alvast speculeren wat het volgende PB zal zijn.
    Trouwens, Antonov zwijgt niet want die Chinees is toch van Antonov. Het is alleen nog niet officieel. Zeg maar officieus dus :-)

    Klinkt allemaal weer fantastisch. Maar ja , hoeveel productie hebben we die jaren wel niet voorbij zien komen. Als je alles bij elkaar op telt kom je wel tot een fantastisch aantal.

    Er wordt nergens over enorme productie aantallen gesproken Frenkel. Integendeel zelfs. Gewoon een informatief stukje volgens mij en als nieuwtje de productie in Frankrijk ipv China.

    A German buyer for Ford Aquitaine Industries
    1600 jobs saved.

    The French Minister for the Economy, Finance and Employment, Christine Lagarde, has announced that the Ford Aquitaine Industries (FAI) factory in Blanquefort (Gironde, South-West France), which employs 1,600 people, has been taken over by the German company HZ Holding France SAS, in close partnership with the German equipment supplier Johann Hay GmbH.

    The Invest in France Agency played an active role in the search for a buyer for the Ford site and for the 1,600 jobs to be maintained. It also provided support to the investment project proposed by the German company Johann Hay GmbH.

    Between now and 2012, the German buyer has made a commitment to invest nearly €200m in the Blanquefort factory. Six new manufacturing projects will be funded, including one in the field of renewable energy involving the manufacture of components for wind turbines. These investments will allow all FAI jobs to be saved.

    Als je alle beloftes bij elkaar optelt kom je tot enorme aantallen.

    Zijn we ooit niet eens in een ver verleden verast met de blijde boodschap dat we wel 200.000 bakken zouden gaan maken voor Suzuki? Tot 2x maal toe werd ons voorgespiegeld dat KWZF (of iets in die geest) ook zo'n 200.000 stuks zouden gaan maken (inclusief boete clausule). Met andere woorden, de belofte dat er iets geproduceerd gaat worden is voor mij een loze belofte met een hoog copy/paste gehalte totdat er ook daadwerkelijk iets van de productieband rolt. (en dan heb ik het hier niet over een nieuw pakket aandelen)

    De Chinese markt is Lifan. En de bakkies rollen pas 2011 van de band in Frankrijk. Hoe kan Lifan ze dan in 2010 krijgen?

    Overigens huren van een productielijn welke ook nog aangepast moet worden voor een paar bakkies en leveren tegen de afgesproken voorwaarde met Loncin. Dit gaat geld kosten i.p.v. opleveren. Denk daar maar is over na.

    Bij Antonov moet je niet objectief lezen, maar tussen de regels door. Ik dacht dat je dat wel wist na al die jaren.

    Antonov heeft persberichten de deur uit gedaan met minder nieuws waarde. Overigens was dit Franse verhaal al bekend bij de officiële update over de TX6 enkele weken terug. Lijkt me een puntje wat daar prima in past.

    Maar goed de Antonov propaganda machine doet zijn werk weer goed. De believers komen alweer in extase.

    De koers reflecteert hoe Antonov ervoor staat. En dat is in mijn ogen beroerd.

    Het positieve is dat de koers niet meer reageert op berichten, we zijn te vaak in de maling genomen door dit fonds.

    Luchtkastelen zijn inmiddels allemaal omver geblazen.
    Gewoon over en sluiten met dit fonds, het is mij een raadsel dat dit zoalang door kan blijven gaan.
