BW Offshore will be one of several candidates for an FPSO contract with ExxonMobil for deepwater project Liza outside Guyana.
It writes Upstream Friday referring to unnamed industry sources according to TDN Finans.
According to sources, at least Bluewater, Modec, Saipem and SBM Offshore also relevant for the contract for the unit that will handle at least 60,000 barrels per day of oil and a significant amount of gas. It's goal to begin production on the project in 2018.
Moreover indicates sources that the production system may be precursor to a larger project based on a larger FPSO with capacity of 150 thousand to 200 thousand barrels per day. ExxonMobil should not have taken a final decision on its preferred strategy for Liza.
ExxonMobil is expected to make a decision on its preferred FEED bidders within weeks, according to the newspaper.
Misschien de eerste niet, maar dan toch zeker kansrijk voor de tweede grotere?
