   AMSTERDAM (FD.nl/Betten) - GlaxoSmithKline heeft een belang van 12,3% in OctoPlus. Dit blijkt uit een initiele melding het kader van de Wet Melding Zeggenschap in ter beurze genoteerde vennootschappen (WMZ). Het belang wordt middellijk reeel gehouden. Op 4 oktober 2006 is de meldingsplicht ontstaan.

   AMSTERDAM (fd.nl) - De Autoriteit Financiële Markten heeft op dinsdag 7 november 2006 de volgende belangenmelding(en) bekendgemaakt:
   *** Het Belgische investeringsfonds Fagus uit Brussel meldt een belang in OctoPlus te hebben verworven van 7,18%. Er was nog geen eerdere melding bekend van Fagus. De meldingsplicht ontstond 4 oktober 2006.
   
   Ook het Amerikaanse investeringsfonds SurModles uit Eden Prairie meldt een belang in OctoPlus te hebben verworven; dit belang bedraagt 9,17%. De meldingsplicht voor SurModles ontstond ook 4 oktober 2006.

   AMSTERDAM (FD.nl/Betten) - SurModies Inc. heeft een belang van 9,17% in OctoPlus. Dit blijk uit een melding in het kader van de Wet Melding Zeggenschap in ter beurze genoteerde vennootschappen (WMZ). Op 1 november 2006 is de meldingsplicht ontstaan. Het belang wordt rechtstreeks reeel gehouden. Het stemrecht bedraagt 9,17%. Het belang bestaat uit 1.482.981 gewone aandelen.
   
   De nieuwe wetgeving rond melding zeggenschap en kapitaalbelang in effectenuitgevende instellingen (WMZ 2006) vereist dat bestuurders, en commissarissen alsmede aandeelhouders met een aanmerkelijk belang, per 1 november 2006 hun aandelen opnieuw aanmelden bij de Autoriteit Financiele Markten.

   OctoPlus secures Euro 18.25 million in second financing round
   
   OctoPlus (Leiden, The Netherlands), a drug delivery and development company announced today that it has raised Euro 18.25 million (US$ 23.85 million) in a second financing round from an international group of investors. The investment was led by Life Sciences Partners II B.V. (LSP; Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and S.R. One, Ltd. (West Conshohocken, PA, USA). Other investors participating in this round of financing are Innoven Partenaires (Paris, France), Fortis Private Equity (Brussels, Belgium) and SurModics, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN, USA). Fortis Bank acted as OctoPlus' exclusive financial advisor and placement agent in the financing.
   
   The funds will be used primarily to further expand OctoPlus’ portfolio of products based on its proprietary drug delivery platforms OctoDEX™ and PolyActive™. These platforms enable development of novel controlled release formulations for established and experimental biopharmaceutical drugs. Controlled release formulations reduce injection frequency and increase patient comfort and compliance. They can also improve safety and efficacy of a drug by avoiding large fluctuations of drug levels in the blood and achieving prolonged high concentrations in target organs and tissues. Products in development at OctoPlus address a multi-billion US$ market opportunity and are amongst others controlled release formulations for recombinant human growth hormone and interferon-alpha.
