TomTom for iPhone – free updates announced, more in-car kit details

   The TomTom iPhone app may still be waiting for its in-car kit, but in the meantime, TomTom is whetting our appetites by announcing a few more tasty sat-nav tidbits to keep us going.
   
   Hot on the heels of Co-Pilot's update announcement, TomTom has confirmed free safety camera updates. We're also promised "additional features" for gratis, but are keeping tight-lipped as to what these extra goodies might be.
   
   Also confirmed are some extra details on the in-car kit – it will be available in October, the hold-up has been put down to "wanting to deliver the best possible product for consumers".
   
   The car kit will be available as a separate purchase to the app – TomTom said that there was no plans for an app and car-kit bundle. But the kit can also be used with any other iPhone-flavoured sat-nav apps.
