   Pilot Phase of Ambitious Government Change Project in Equatorial Guinea
   
   SLIEDRECHT, The Netherlands, Feb. 7 /CNW/ - UNIT4, the world's leading provider of business software for fast changing organizations, today announced that The Ministry of Mines, Industry and Energy in Equatorial Guinea, a public body that contributes to the formulation of government policy on research, development, promotion and marketing of energy resources, has chosen to work with UNIT4 to develop software to improve the recording and management of public records.
   
   The Ministry project is the first phase of an ambitious change program to improve management of public administration in Equatorial Guinea and once successful, the solution will be extended to other government agencies in subsequent phases.
   
   The objective of the project is to address all document and records management requirements from indexing to storage, archiving and fast-search.
   
   During the pilot project, UNIT4 will:
   
   * Provide The Ministry with a state of the art pilot solution for the registration and control of communications with energy sector organizations
   * Reduce time spent filing, categorizing and searching for documents
   * Install and maintain a pilot solution that could be deployed as part of a wider project
   * Train officials and departments that deal with business registration
   * Simulate the computer system capabilities and benefits to the Ministry
   
   The Ministry is committed to the modernization of its systems and processes and will work with UNIT4 to automate the registration and management of records and documents. It hopes to achieve a better level of security and compliance by securely recording, storing and indexing original documents which can easily be searched and located.
