BCP is a member of the Euronext 100 stock index and its current chief executive officer is Nuno Manuel da Silva Amado. BCP is based in Porto, but its operations are headquartered in Oeiras, Greater Lisbon. It operates a branch brand dubbed and restyled in 2004 as Millennium BCP.

    Alles draait om de markt capitalisatie en die was in 2007 bij 19 milard. Nu is de marktcap. 4 miljard (bloomberg)Aandeel kan 400 % stijgen om de historische markt cap. van 2007 te bereiken.

    Portuguese bank BCP plans to start paying back the €3bn it received from the state from mid-2014 until 2016, the financial institution’s CEO revealed yesterday in an interview with TV station TVI24.

    Nuno Amado said the first tranche will be between €500m and €750m.

    The bank drew a €3bn loan from Portugal’s €78bn bailout fund through special bonds convertible into equity, which must be paid back in five years.

    PARIS, Jan 8 (Reuters) - European stocks paused on Wednesday around 5-1/2 year highs, but peripheral euro zone markets extended their rally on rising confidence that their economies are starting to recover from the regional debt crisis.

    Trading volumes on Portugal's PSI 20 benchmark share index were nearly seven times the daily average, while turnover in Madrid, Milan and Dublin were at least 40 percent higher than average, according to Thomson Reuters data.

    Peripheral euro zone stocks have seen hefty inflows recently and strong demand for an Irish debt sale, which has pushed down euro zone government bond yields, has raised expectations that Portugal will be able to exit its EU/IMF baiilout programme this year as planned.

    Portugal the surprise hero of eurozone growth as exports and tourism prosper

    “Portugal, is the biggest positive surprise in the [eurozone] periphery,” according to Ralph Solveen, an economist with Commerzbank. “Unlike in Spain, the unemployment rate has already come down significantly and employment has increased since the spring.”

    Export growth of 24.2 per cent over the four years to December and a 5.1 per cent contraction in imports have delivered Portugal’s first current account surplus in two decades. Exports now account for 41 per cent of national output, compared with 28 per cent in 2008.
