   Pixium Vision, created in December 2011, is a bioelectronics and brain machine interface technology company specialized in neuromodulation application whose mission is to create a world of bionic vision for those who have lost their sight, enabling them to regain partial visual perception and greater autonomy.
   
   PRIMA System features a miniaturized and totally wireless sub-retinal implant, a pocket computer equipped with breakthrough algorithms, and a pair of glasses which captures the visual scene.
   
   For the novel breakthrough PRIMA system, the exclusive transfer of the patented technology was granted by Stanford’s University to Pixium Vision to develop and industrialize the PRIMA bionic vision system.
   
   Pixium Vision is currently conducting in France and in the United States, two feasibility clinical trials with PRIMA, for patients with severe vision loss due to retinal degeneration caused by the dry atrophic form of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), for which there is no treatment available to date.

   Het bedrijf heeft positieve resultaten aangekondigd voor zijn "bionische oog" dat wordt gebruikt bij de behandeling van droge AMD. De actie won op 8 januari halverwege de dag meer dan 8% op de beurs van Parijs.
   Het jaar begint goed voor Pixium Vision .
   
   De medtech die gespecialiseerd is in innovatieve bionische visiesystemen heeft aangekondigd dat zijn Prima subretinale implantaat de doelstellingen van zijn haalbaarheidsonderzoek heeft bereikt na zes maanden follow-up en revalidatie van patiënten met de droge vorm van maculaire degeneratie gekoppeld aan leeftijd (AMD).
   
   Uit de hoofdlessen van het onderzoek blijkt dat deze draadloze fotovoltaïsche microchip veilig in het oog kan worden geïmplanteerd. De bijwerkingen waren niet ernstig en konden binnen enkele weken na de operatie worden opgelost.

   Prima stond ook het herstel toe van een lichtgevende perceptie, bij alle patiënten, in het centrale deel van het netvlies dat alle visuele activiteit had verloren.
   
   De meerderheid van de patiënten kon signalen, cijfers of letters identificeren met behulp van het implantaat. Pixium Vision benadrukt ten slotte in een persbericht dat "de verkregen gezichtsscherpte-resultaten de beste zijn die ooit zijn bereikt in het licht van de resultaten die zijn gepubliceerd met de huidige technologieën voor prothetische visie".
   
   In hetzelfde persbericht onderstreept Khalid Ishaque, CEO van het bedrijf: “Deze resultaten overtreffen onze verwachtingen.

   (AOF) - Pixium Vision heeft maandagavond het succes aangekondigd van de eerste implantatie van het Prima-systeem bij een Amerikaanse patiënt die lijdt aan de droge vorm van Macular Degeneration Linked to Age (AMD). De interventie werd uitgevoerd, als onderdeel van de Amerikaanse haalbaarheidsstudie, bij het Department of Ophthalmology van het medisch centrum van de Universiteit van Pittsburgh (UPMC) onder leiding van professor José A. Sahel, mede-oprichter van Pixium Vision .
   
   "De implantatie van deze eerste patiënt in de Verenigde Staten betekent een belangrijke stap voor Pixium Vision en het bereiken van een belangrijke mijlpaal in de ontwikkeling van een behandeling voor een belangrijke ongedekte medische behoefte", aldus Lloyd Diamond, de CEO van Pixium Vision.
   
   "Dit is de eerste van de vijf geplande patiënten in de Amerikaanse haalbaarheidsstudie die de klinische gegevens van het Prima-systeem aanvult met het oog op de centrale studie bij droge AMD. Deze studie, noodzakelijk voor het verkrijgen van autorisaties marketing, moet worden ingediend in de eerste helft van 2020 ", voegde de directeur toe.
   
   Ik heb deze week dit aandeel gekocht.
   Zijn naar mijn mening te ver weggezakt (ophalen geld), maar zijn de afgelopen periode weer behoorlijk aan het herstellen.
   Mede door de goede nieuwsberichten.
   Ik verwacht een snel herstel richting de 2 euro.

   Paris, March 31st 2020 – 6:00 PM CEST– Pixium Vision (FR0011950641 - ALPIX), a bioelectronics company that develops innovative bionic vision systems to enable patients who have lost their sight to live more independently, today announces positive follow-up data from the French feasibility trial of the Prima System in patients with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
   
   The follow-up from 18 to 24 months after implantation showed that the Prima System sustainably elicited light perception in all four dry AMD patients1 with favourable safety profile. Moreover, the second-generation transparent glasses, enabling to combine natural peripheral vision and prosthetic vision, greatly benefited patients and their visual acuity which improved by a minimum of logMAR 0.3 (or 3 lines) and up to logMAR 0.7 (or 7 lines). It complements and builds on the previously announced positive 12-month clinical data, and reinforces the clinical feasibility of the Prima System in good safety conditions and the functionality of the new transparent glasses.
   
   “The Prima System has demonstrated excellent results in improvement of visual acuity in this study and which have not been previously demonstrated in this patient population. A 3-line improvement can mean the difference between recognizing or not recognizing the letters on a street sign, and so these data reinforce the potential to make a significant difference to the lives of patients” said Dr Yannick le Mer, the surgeon who implanted the Prima System patients in the study, who is Head of the Vitreo-retinal Unit at Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild Hospital in Paris and a scientific advisor to Pixium Vision.
   
   “We are absolutely delighted with these very impressive clinical data which pave the way to progress the Prima System into the PRIMAvera pivotal trial, required for potential marketing approval. We now have compelling additional evidence that Prima System can improve dry AMD patients’ sight potentially offering them - and their care givers - greater independence in good safety conditions. This is made even more significant by the fact that dry AMD patients currently have no other treatment options,” said Lloyd Diamond, Chief Executive Officer of Pixium Vision.
   
   Based on these positive data the Prima System will be tested in PRIMAvera, the pivotal trial designed to provide the safety and efficacy data required for filing marketing authorization applications in the U.S., Europe and other parts of the world.
