   Lijkt me wel. Als je naar de doelen van de studie kijkt is dat duidelijk de opzet

   Dus het primaire doel is om te kijken of het hepatitis A vaccine binnen deze cocktail werkt. De secundaire doelen zijn het testen van de andere de andere vaccins en de mogelijke bijwerkingen.
   
   Dit is duidelijk een studie om de werkzaamheid van het nieuwe combinatievaccin te testen.

   Lijkt me goed nieuws Stefan. Op deze manier gaan we de productiecapaciteit van Berna volop benutten.
   
   Er komen direct weer wat vragen bij me op:
   
   Zijn er concurrenten die al deze combinatie van vaccins op de markt hebben?
   
   Heeft het dezelfde potentie als Quinvaxem?
   
   Wat is het tijdsbestek tot toelating tot de markt na een positief verlopen studie?

   Traveler's diarrhea vaccine - ETEC
   Traveler's diarrhea, mainly caused by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) strains affects about 30 to 40 % of travelers going from industrial countries to endemic regions. No vaccine is currently available against such infections.    The Berna Biotech group currently has two programs on combination vaccines.
   
   Combination Vaccines (DTPw-HepB-Hib, DTPw-HepB)
   40 years ago a baby only had to receive one injection during its first year of life. Nowadays in the USA babies receive up to 18 shots against different diseases during their first year.
   Combination vaccines, which address several diseases in one injection clearly simplify the immunization process, reducing discomfort during vaccination and lowering the risk of infection associated with multiple injections. Combination vaccines also mean considerable cost savings.

    Volgens Pharma Koreana is de approval voor Epaxal voor Korea in juni binnengekomen.
    Bij presentatie van Kruimer was dit 1 van de punten voor het vergroten van de omzet in Epaxal.
    Ik kan helaas niet inloggen bij Pharma voor het complete artikel.

    Misschien wel leuk om dit draadje weer boven te halen want in mijn beleving wordt dit de 2e kaskraker na Quinvaxem!
    Zou me niet verbazen dat na approval Quinvaxem dit combi-vaccin wordt gelanceerd.

    In een brede markt kan het interessant zijn om je product goedkoper aan te kunnen bieden. Halve dosering (met hetzelfde effect) is immers minder duur.
    Lager of korter doseren is overigens erg hip op dit moment, vooral voor antibiotica. Artsen willen erg echter niet zo snel aan, je weet immers maar nooit.

    Hoho: het betreft, zoals vorige week op de analistenmeeting al aangekondigd, gewoon een produkt-uitbreiding: een dosering voor kinderen.
    Met dit onderzoek wil men aantonen, dat de gebruikte dosering bij kinderen even effectief is als de bestaande dosering voor volwassenen.
    Nu is Epaxal alleen nog maar beschikbaar voor volwassenen, en Crucell wil dit uitbreiden met de kindergroep: 1 - 16 jarigen.
