   Na Nokia en Google, willen in iedergeval meerdere partijen hetzelfde bereiken. Dan kun je niet om TT heen en is met deze koers eigenlijk een zeer goedkope optie. Nokia heeft maar liefs 7 kkk betaald. TT is er inclusief kaartenmaker voor een derde van de prijs.

   ow bedankt. wist niet wat het was. maar dat is wel heel veel geld dan voor die kaartenmaker. Dan is teleatlas stukken goedkoper geweest voor tomtom. Is navteq ook niet een stuk kleiner?

   Even if turn-by-turn navigation applications have only started to populate the iTunes application store in the second part of 2009, they are definitely one of the big best sellers for the full year, according to Apple.
   
   Last week the Cupertino-based company unveiled several ranking for best selling applications in many markets, and in most of them navigation applications have been at the top of the charts. In the United States, two turn-by-turn navigation applications are in the top 10 (outside gaming apps). In France there are 5 of them and in Germany 6. In the United Kingdom (this time including games) 4 navigation applications are in the top 10.

   bovenstaande bericht is mooi om te lezen. toch staat er heel duidelijk exclusief games. Het zou mooi zijn geweest als er ook aantallen bij hadden gestaan. Op deze manier zegt dit lijstje nog niet zoveel.

   TomTom sees the writing on the free Google Maps Navigation wall--and has now introduced a U.S.-only version of its $99 iPhone GPS app at half price, four months after the app first hit Apple's App Store.
   
   For $49, all you lose with the new version are Canadian maps--no big deal if you're not heading to Canada by car any time soon. It still includes maps of Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
   
   As before, the app's UI mirrors that of TomTom's line of standalone portable navigation devices. It also offers 2D and 3D views, IQ Routes, Advanced Lane Guidance, and (now, at least, with a recent update) text-to-speech functionality for pronouncing street names.
   
   Grab the special U.S.-only version in the App Store--complete with its "Xmas" icon. The company is calling the $49.99 price "introductory" through December 28th. I guess we'll see what that means on 12/29, huh?

    Het is wel de eerste dure app op plaats 73 en daarnaast ook de eerste navigatie app.
    
    Denk dat het dus WEL mee gaat vallen die omzet
    

    ab-tje, zeer terecht opgemerkt!
    
    naar redelijke schatting zullen er inmiddels meer dan 60 miljoen iphone en ipod touch gebruikers zijn. je vraagt je af hoeveel procent hiervan deze tomtom app gaan gebruiken.
    
    tomtom staat met 2 "dure" apps in top van de nav apps, dit is niet voor niets.
