    Geely to ramp up DSI gearbox production in three plants

    Two Geely Automobile plants in Jining, Shandong Province and Xiangtan of Hunan Province will produce gearboxes based on the technology of Drivetrain Systems International (DSI) after the 2010 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2010) next month, media reported March 9.

    After these two plants begin production, another of Geely’s DSI plants in Tongliang of Chongqing will also start manufacturing the gearboxes with an investment of 800 million yuan ($117 million) with a production capacity of 300,000 units a year.

    The three plants will provide automatic gearboxes for Geely and other Chinese carmakers, disclosed Geely Chairman Li Shufu.

    Geely acquired Australian automatic gearbox maker DSI in 2009. That helped the Chinese automaker improve its gearbox technology to produce products compatible with engines above 2.0L.

    The Chinese company's existing automatic gearbox technology is only suited for engines below 1.8L.

    A source told NBD.com.cn that DSI China plants and Geely's R&D center in Hangzhou will support future domestic Volvo vehicles with core components and technology, and DSI gearbox may be integrated into Volvo cars.

    Geely, along with Chery and Shengrui, have strong plans for their own gearbox line up in 2010 and 2011. Shengrui recently launched their 8 speed unit, Chery launched their CVT unit over the weekend, and Geely joined the fray this morning with the six speed auto box to the left.

    Geely’s gearbox comes from its Australian gearbox company, DSI Transmissions, that it bought early last year and gave it a massive jump in the autobox markets. The new gearbox is likely to be featured on around 9 different models from next year onwards, and another 7 speed model is currently in development.

    je bent zo goed in het geven van de antwoorden, waarom stel je dan die vraag aan mij.
    Niets is zo makkelijk om op basis van het verleden het heden te schrijven.

    Beleggen is een vorm van speculeren op de toekomst, met de nadruk op speculeren.
    Als ik dus een antwoord geef op wat komen gaat, speculeer ik en dat is nu net waarom ik en anderen in een aandeel beleggen.

    Zo lief he. De heer Ritskes trekt zijn laat op 13 cent met honderdduizenden tegelijk in. Waarschijnlijk met de hoop dat er kopers op af komen.

    Helaas meneer Ritskes, daar trapt niemand meer in.

    Trading Update.

    Antonov’s TX-6 automatic transmission project has reached a major milestone on the final stages towards production. The first production design transmissions (B-samples) are presently being assembled and tested at Antonov’s Warwick facility, followed by vehicle installation and calibration. EFA, the Antonov and Landai Joint Venture, will launch the transmission to Chinese vehicle OEMs in order to secure serious commitments for production volume orders. This means also that having reached B-sample level, EFA will be the organisation to bring the transmission to SOP (start of production in October 2011) and will be a paying customer for the majority of future Antonov activities regarding the TX-6.

    The development of Antonov’s 3-speed powershifting transmission for electric and hybrid vehicle applications continues on schedule. Hardware will be available in September and the transmission will be installed into Jaguar’s Limo-Green range extending electric vehicle later in the year. A recent Autocar feature announcing the installation of Antonov’s 3-speed transmission into the Jaguar vehicle has raised significant interest in the market and has increased the potential for commercial opportunities for this product.

    Antonov’s 2-speed alternator project in conjunction with Prestolite and the MoD also continues on schedule. Increased business development of this product and the recent exhibition of this technology at the DVD Defence Equipment event organised by the MoD has led to several additional opportunities for the commercialisation of this combined Antonov and Prestolite system.

    As part of the revised strategy, Antonov continues to concentrate significant business development activity to the commercial engineering services part of the business. This has led to the winning of several profitable projects, like an epicyclical transmission for an unmanned vehicle for UAV Engines Ltd with military applications.

    Dat oktober is volgens Antonov zeker al januari 2012 geworden, tenminste als ze het lukt om de schuine vertanding machine aan de praat te krijgen. Schijnt erg moeilijk te zijn volgens Antonov, getuige de prototypes met rechte vertanding en dus veel lawaai.

    Van de andere zogenaamde ontwikkelingen hoor je helemaal niets meer,terwijl ze stuk voor stuk in het 1e kwartaal 2011 getest zouden gaan worden. Allemaal persberichten om aandelen te verkopen. De heer Ritskes schijn het moeilijk te hebben. Crisis. Hm, wat zal er met Antonov gebeuren als de heer Ritskes wegvalt?
