LONDON -(Dow Jones)- India-focused Tata Steel Ltd. (500470.BY) said Friday it is temporarily shutting down its hot strip steel mill at the Llanwern site in Newport, South Wales due to poor U.K. steel demand and a deteriorating European economic outlook.
This marks the second time that the hot strip mill has been mothballed since the onset of the financial crisis in 2008. The facility was shut in January 2009 for nine months as a result of poor market conditions then, the company said.
Dit is een veeg teken, Thyssenkrupp durfde ook al geen enkele outlook te geven.
