Onderstaande speculatie van een Canadees beleggingsforum geplukt.
Voor wat het waard is.
ECA=Encana
ECA is in a hurting position, and it's no secret they've been trying to unload some properties for a long time now. Problem is no takers for gas assets. A single large company MIGHT have interest in aquiring the entire thing IF they have a long term view of gas prices. Valuations have never been lower, and ECA has some prime acerage.
Very few otehr large companies would be able or willing to do a deal of this type.
Other companies are looking to divest significant assets or be aquired, like TLM, who would be falling all over themselves to sell out to XOM.
If Exxon makes an offer, EnCana will accept it. They need something like this.
Don't expect wild valuations though. Nobody is overpaying for gas assets in this environment.
forums.beyond.ca/st/375956/rumor-enca...In 2009 was er blijkbaar al speculatie over een mogelijke verkoop van het platform:
There has been speculation that EnCana might eventually be interested in sell the Deep Panuke field.
Rix said that Repsol isn't commenting on whether it might become a buyer in the years to come.
www.thestar.com/news/canada/2009/02/1...Het gas dat Deep Panuke momenteel naar boven haalt wordt verkocht aan Repsol.
