    After trying on the two smartwatches that have been released so far [LG G Watch and Samsung (OTC:SSNLF) Gear Live], I have softened my negative stance on the Apple iWatch. The watches were uncomfortable and aren't very useful considering the fact that a smartphone is just as portable and way more functional. Even if the Moto 360 is spectacular, as I expected in my article, this doesn't make the competition so tough that Apple can't compete with it. Apple will likely revolutionize the smartwatch industry as it is partnering Swatch (OTCPK:SWGAF) to get the design right. While I was already bullish on Apple, this change of opinion makes me even more bullish on the name.

    Swatch komt met eigen fitnesshorloge

    Tot nu toe zijn vrijwel alle smartwatches en fitnesshorloges afkomstig van technologiebedrijven. Horlogefabrikant Swatch benadert de nieuwe productcategorie van de andere kant. Het Zwitserse bedrijf komt namelijk met een eigen slim uurwerk.
    Het apparaat moet in de bestaande Touch-lijn uitkomen en is voornamelijk bedoeld voor fitnessdoeleinden. Specifieke functies zijn niet bekend, maar een stappenteller en wellicht een hartslagmeter zijn voor dit type gadget inmiddels gewoongoed. De Touch-horloges zijn al voorzien van aanraakschermen, dus de bediening zal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid via het scherm verlopen. De gadget moet in 2015 in de winkels liggen.
    Er deden enige tijd geruchten de ronde dat Swatch juist samen zou werken met Apple aan een smartwatch. Het bedrijf ontkende dit echter onlangs. Sterker nog, als het apparaat van de iPhone-producent 'iWatch' gaat heten, zou het weleens tot een rechtszaak kunnen komen. Swatch had in mei van dit jaar namelijk al laten weten dat het dit teveel vindt lijken op iSwatch, een eigen merknaam.

    Staat ook vol (flauwe) comments. Die laatste opmerking mag van mij zo gebeuren. Laat iemand maar een video maken van een vette gast en viral gaan met de video. Draait toch allemaal om aandacht.
