Employees photoblog about the best Imtech projects
Imtech Nederland has won the Industrial Social Media Award for its online photoblogger platform
www.imtech247.com. This happened during the Digital Marketing in 1 Day congress. The Imtech online platform allows visitors to take a daily peek behind the scenes of our technical professionals at work. This has enabled Imtech Nederland to create strong customer relationships and nurture company pride among its staff.
Imtech professionals use a specially-developed app to take photos, add text and post these online. The platform was established almost a year ago. Some thirty photobloggers were active at the beginning, but this number has now risen to around seventy enthusiasts who photograph their daily work and share this with the world.
From petrochemicals to town hall
On Imtech24/7 visitors are given a good impression of the expertise of Imtech staff, the varied work that they do in different locations and the diversity of projects on which they work. From petrochemicals to healthcare and from town hall to congress centre. And from concept to delivery. Online Marketer and Imtech24/7 Project Leader, Bas Vermond, accepted the award. Vermond: “We are proud of our people in the field and proud of the customers and fantastic projects for which we work. We want to show this with Imtech24/7. After all, a picture speaks a thousand words. Of course it’s fantastic that this project has now been rewarded with this award.”
Specialists
Each specialist has a page per field of expertise. These contain the photos that Imtech colleagues have uploaded and there is space to explain more about their job, specialism and love of technology. The platform also has an important contact function. Interested visitors can contact the specialists directly. Vermond: “This direct contact function fits with our company vision to operate in the most transparent way to the outside world. So we’re practising what we preach.”
Safety first
All photos that professionals upload from their workplace undergo a brief check before posting. “The photos should comply with several simple conditions regarding obtaining prior permission”, said Vermond. “These include, avoiding unsafe situations, sharing company-sensitive information and unsolicited written information or photography about customers and partners. Our photobloggers also receive information to ensure that they know what they can and cannot photograph on location. But we also trust that they will use their common sense.”
Proud employees
As well as proud employees, Imtech also wants to use Imtech24/7 to improve its customer relations and services. “This includes improved communication lines, but also more focused information for potential customers and staff. Customer relations are further improved as customers recycle Imtech24/7 materials in their own communications. We also want to use Imtech 24/7 to close the gap between a large and seemingly inaccessible company and individual visitors to the new platform”, stated Vermond.
