    Na een uur handel in Amerika blijft de Dow bungelen rond de slotstand van gisteravond. Ruwe olie is pas zojuist weer licht groen geworden. Arcelor blijft ook hangen rond de 28,70. Mexicaanse vergeldingsacties voor Amerikaanse importheffingen zorgen voor een negatieve noot. Mexico stelt importheffingen in voor staal, whisky en een aantal landbouwgoederen van de VS.

    ik had ook geen centen meer , maar heb vanmorgen toch enkele andere stukken verkocht waardoor er nu weer wat centen zijn vrijgekomen, maar ik vertrouw het nog niet en koop deze keer alleen nog bij als ie terug richting 27 zou gaan, voor de rest is het wachten tot hij terug richting 30 gaan
    ik moet er nu vandoor ,succes nog aan iedereen bby

    Slim bekeken en voorzichtigheid blijft geboden. Ik denk nog na over mijn toe te passen strategie. Succes toegewenst.

    Toch nog een aardige slotstand met 3,5 cent erbij in de eindveiling, waarmee we op 28,68 uitkwamen. Het had hoger gekund, als de Dow zich positief zou ontwikkelen maar (mede) omdat Mexico terug sloeg naar de importheffingen die het van Amerika opgelegd had gekregen werd de stemming bedrukt en zakte e.e.a weg helaas. Morgen nieuwe kansen, nieuwe ronde, nieuwe cijfers.........

    Trump Trade War - Exposure of European steel industry

    Reuters reported that the United States, the world’s biggest steel importer, has imposed tariffs of 25 percent on steel imports from the European Union, Canada and Mexico from midnight on June 1st 2018. Steel is the second biggest industry in the world after oil and gas. The following are facts and figures on the European steel industry and its exposure to the US tariffs:

    1. Europe is the biggest exporter of steel to the United States, accounting for nearly 5 million tonnes out of total U.S. imports of about 35 million tonnes a year.

    2. Data from European steel association Eurofer shows the United States was the destination of about 15 percent of Europe’s steel exports in 2017.

    3. Eurofer says European steel exports could be cut in half by the U.S. measures. It also fears steel exported to the United States from other countries could be redirected to Europe on account of the tariffs.

    4. EU exports of steel to the United States were worth 5.3 billion euros (4.6 billion pounds) in 2017.

    5. Ratings agency Moody’s has said that the tariffs are credit-negative for European steelmakers.

    6. ArcelorMittal is Europe’s largest steelmaker. Other top steelmakers in Europe include Thyssenkrupp, Tata Steel, Voestalpine, Salzgitter and SSAB.

    7. Thyssenkrupp has said it supplies between 400,000 and 500,000 tonnes of steel a year to the United States while an industry source said Tata Steel Europe sells about 10 percent of its steel to the United States.

    8. The European steel industry has a turnover of around 170 billion euros. It directly employs 320,000 people and indirectly employs millions more.

    9. Europe produces on average 160 million tonnes of steel per year.

    Trump Trade War - ArcelorMittal France calls for quotas
    Steel News - Published on Tue, 05 Jun 2018

    Reuters reported that the head of ArcelorMittal’s French division called on June 1 for quotas and safeguards to protect the European steel industry, in light of the United States’ decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminium imports. Mr Darmayan told France Info radio that “We would like safeguards to be put in place at the European borders, preferably as soon as possible, in order to stabilise the market....”

    Mr Darmayan added he was concerned, like many in the European steel industry, that Washington’s decision could see cheaper products from China flooding over into Europe.

    The comments from ArcelorMittal executive Philippe Darmayan echoed similar views from other European steel executives, with Tata Steel’s Dutch arm having also called on the European Union to shield the European market from cheap imports.
