    Revenue of $187.9 million, an increase of 19.9% sequentially from 1Q20 and above consensus estimates

    SAN JOSE, Calif., July 28, 2020 -- Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE: BE) today announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020. The Company has issued a shareholder letter discussing its second quarter 2020 financial results, and it may be accessed on the Investor Relations section of the Company’s website at: investor.bloomenergy.com.

    Key highlights from the second quarter include:

    Revenue of $187.9 million, GAAP gross margin of 14.0% and net loss of $42.5 million. Excluding stock-based compensation, Bloom achieved 16.5% gross margin and $2.1 million adjusted EBITDA*. Both revenue and adjusted EBITDA were above consensus estimates.
    Q2 acceptances of 306, a 19.5% increase from the first quarter of 2020. The acceptances during the quarter represented 10 different end customers, across four industries and two countries.
    Commenting on second quarter results, KR Sridhar, founder, chairman and CEO, Bloom Energy said:

    “Our business grew in Q2 2020 with acceptances increasing 19.5% sequentially from Q1 2020. Now, more than ever, it is apparent how vulnerable the entire economy is to disruptions that impact the production and distribution of goods and services. Our business has proven to be resilient and our products offer resilience. We remain focused on delivering reliable, localized power solutions to the world. We will continue the push to innovate and execute while reimagining future operating models that will sustainably power communities.”

    Outlook for Q3 of FY20:

    Due to the uncertainties resulting from the global economic impact of the coronavirus ("COVID-19"), Bloom Energy will not be providing guidance for the third quarter of 2020.

    Bloom Energy will hold a conference call today to discuss its financial results and to provide an update on the business. The details are included at the end of the release.

    Bloom Energy (BE) Reports Q2 Loss, Tops Revenue Estimates

    Bloom Energy (BE) came out with a quarterly loss of $0.23 per share in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to loss of $0.13 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

    A quarter ago, it was expected that this developer of fuel cell systems would post a loss of $0.42 per share when it actually produced a loss of $0.34, delivering a surprise of 19.05%.

    Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

    Bloom Energy, which belongs to the Zacks Alternative Energy - Other industry, posted revenues of $187.86 million for the quarter ended June 2020, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 11.21%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $233.78 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters.

    The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.

    Bloom Energy shares have added about 117.1% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 0.3%.

    While Bloom Energy has outperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock?

    NEL op dit niveau kopen is nog steeds zeer aantrekkelijk voor langere termijn beleggers. Dit aandeel zal in mijn verwachting einde jaar boven de €2,50 staan. In 2021 zal de koers nog verder omhoog trekken omdat in de EU hoge H2 investeringen worden gedaan. NEL zit nu al in een aantal strategische werkgroepen van deze business.

    Powercell vorig jaar om deze tijd SEK 72,70 NU een jaar later SEK 265,60. Het lijkt mij dat hier ook al een hoge verwachtingswaarde in zit. Anyway ook dit zal voor langere termijn een mooie investering zijn.
