   Momenteel ligt Mittal er als een brak en half dood paard bij snuf.
   Roesthut Ilva verpaupert steeds verder, Mittal blijft in gebreke met de betalingen, de Italianen wachten op ons geld, en beslissingen worden uitgesteld, en zo is de cirkel rond.
   
   Ik verwacht dat Mittal begin november de sleutels terug geeft.
   
   Begin november komt het echte vuurwerk, verkiezingen in de States.
   Dat wordt pas echt lachen, Trump tegen Biden met zijn joggingmaatje mevr. Harris.
   Wie gaat winnen en wie krijgt de meerderheid in het Huis van Afgevaardigden.
   
   Biden loopt op zijn laatste benen, maar je weet het wel, vrouwen krijgen tegenwoordig voorrang, vooral als ze een kleurtje hebben, tja, en kijk eens naar haar reputatie, brrr...
   Zelf hoop ik dat Trump wint ondanks dat het een ongeleid projectiel is, hij is tenminste slagvaardig en pakt door.
   
   De beurzen zitten op hun toppen, blijkbaar gaat het wereldwijd fantastisch en worden er overal dikke winsten gedraaid.
   Vanmiddag was ik nog even in het centrum.
   De jeugd is het spoor bijster, ze gaan niet naar school en maken het geld van hun pa op bij de Mac.
   
   Het is een rotjaar, niks meer aan, de nodige verjaardagen en feestjes zijn al op de lange baan geschoven, ik heb veel bier en lol gemist.
   Wanneer wordt alles in vredesnaam weer normaal.

    Arcelor heeft er weer zin in vandaag.
    De laatste tijd zien we dat het aandeel bij een rood kleurende beurs toch vaak in de bovenste regionen staat, iets rood of mooi groen. Het koersverloop is grillig, maar er lijkt potentie te zijn om door te duwen naar hogere koersen.

    ArcelorMittal South Africa Declares Force Majeure after KwaZulu Natal BF Breakdown
    
    Reuters reported that ArcelorMittal South Africa has declared force majeure after a breakdown of a blast furnace at its Newcastle Works in KwaZulu-Natal province. ArcelorMittal South Africa told Reuters “Blast furnace had suffered thermal damage and had been shut down for an estimated three weeks for repairs. Company has communicated with customers and has declared a force majeure in respect of the specific impact of this breakdown.”
    
    ArcelorMittal, also the biggest steelmaker on the continent, produces close to 4.4 million tonnes of finished steel products in South Africa via four main steel plants. Its Newcastle plant makes long steel products which are used in the construction industry and has a capacity of 1.9 million tonnes, or just over 150,000 tonnes monthly. Its long products, produced from Newcastle and Vereeniging Works, contributed up to a third of its operating profit in 2019.

    DOE Selects ArcelorMittal USA for two HPC4Mfg Supercomputing Grants

    GrantsArcelorMittal Global Research and Development Center in East Chicago is once again the recipient of two prestigious HighPerformance Computing for Manufacturing Program HPC4Mfg grants through a Department of Energy initiative. The DOE announced USD 3.3 million in federal funding for 11 manufacturing and materials projects aimed at solving technical challenges in manufacturing and materials development in the United States.
    
    Grant one: “Ab-initio Guided Design and Materials Informatics for Accelerated Product Development of Next Generation Advanced High Strength Steels.” ArcelorMittal is partnering with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Argonne National Laboratory to establish a method for rapid product development of next generation high strength steels. ArcelorMittal’s typical product development lifecycle equates to approximately 4-6 years, which consists of developing new chemistries and testing the chemistries many times until proven successful. The labs, along with ArcelorMittal, will use HPC at the atomistic scale and artificial intelligence with the aim of reducing the development time.
    
    Grant two: “Reduced Order Modeling and Performance Prediction for Steel Refining Ladle Processing via High Performance Computing.” ArcelorMittal is collaborating with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Purdue University Northwest to reduce the yield loss caused by impurities forming in the refining ladle process. In the steelmaking process, impurities must be eliminated to achieve optimal product performance. The only way to remove impurities is when the steel is molten. This study, taking place at the ladle at Indiana Harbor’s #3 steel producing operation, will examine techniques to produce cleaner steels for our customers. The goal is to conserve energy for ArcelorMittal USA by increasing the probability of melting steel correctly the first time.
    
    HPC will allow faster calculations to evaluate multiple scenarios in a shorter time with the end goal of achieving process efficiency, which will reduce energy consumption at ArcelorMittal.
