   Toyota’s infotainment revolution is (finally) underway
   
   Toyota is calling it its new Multimedia and Connected Services, and it represents a massive sea change from soup to nuts. New screens, new tech and, perhaps most importantly, new services. Toyota Canada recently conducted a virtual presentation for a group of auto journalists to give us a better understanding of how this newfangled tech works.
   
   Before going any further, I should mention that the new infotainment systems mentioned here are only available currently on the all-new 2022 Lexus NX and all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra.

   TomTom (TOM2), the location technology specialist, Toyota Research Institute - Advanced Development, Inc. (TRI-AD) and DENSO, today announced a successful proof of concept demonstrating a fast high definition (HD) map-building method for roads, essential for safer autonomous driving.
   
   This was achieved with TRI-AD test vehicles equipped with DENSO sensors, TRI-AD’s Automated Mapping Platform (AMP), and TomTom’s cloud-based transactional mapping platform. The vehicle sensors are used to collect road observations, which are converted and corrected by TRI-AD’s AMP, for input into TomTom’s cloud-based transactional mapping platform.

   Oude info maar het geeft de goede band aan tussen PSA en Toyota en het feit dat ze samen met TT Touch to GO hebben ontwikkeld…… geen gekke gedachte dat IndiGO de opvolger is (next generation infotainment) voor beiden……

   Wel vreemd dat je nergens iets leest over wie de maps levert voor de Toyota Tundra en de Lexus NX (2022), maar het feit dat Toyota ook nauw samenwerkt met Subaru en zij wel in alle 2022 modellen TomTom gebruiken en in de filmpjes over T-Mate HD-Maps van TomTom worden gebruikt ….. zou je mogen aannemen dat TT hofleverancier wordt van Toyota……. Ik ga aan de oliebollen en appelflappen….en niet te vergeten m’n 21 jaar oude Glennfiddich ;-)

   Was het maar Cinemo het is Fire TV van Amazon…….maar Cinemo is een kleine speler en die was TT al vergeten in een IndiGO bericht op LinkedIn, waarop de CEO van Cinemo reageerde haha…… dus dat Toyota Fire TV gebruikt zegt niet zo veel …..

   The first installation of Fire TV for Auto pairs with Jeep's latest infotainment platform, Uconnect 5. It will be available in the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer full-size SUVs, bundled with other connected services that require a subscription. The Fire TV for Auto release date is in the fall of 2021.
   
   In the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, all occupants except for the driver can enjoy Fire TV for Auto while the vehicle is moving. Rear-seat passengers access Fire TV on their available individual seatback-mounted high-definition screens, while the front passenger can watch on a dashboard-mounted display.
   
   The front passenger's screen is invisible to the driver thanks to a special privacy filter that prevents viewing the content from an angle. However, when the Jeep is stopped and in park, the driver can join the front passenger to view a movie or a show on the main Uconnect 5 screen.
   
   The technology's multi-function remote also serves as a direct link to the Uconnect 5 system for control of vehicle features, including the climate control, maps, Bluetooth, and a "Do Not Disturb" mode to suppress phone notifications, among other commands.
